Replacement of a biometric device

A laptop computer may have a biometric device in it. Such a device is usually a fingerprint scanner. Such devices are usually of a good quality and rare require replacement. If replaced with a new one, then a new fingerprint scanner may require a new device driver to operate properly with the operating system.
