Firewall management

Firewall management is probably not one of the things that a system administrator would need do. Having dedicated network personnel, that have good experience doing this work is a good idea. Regardless of that a system administrator needs to have a good idea of what firewall rules do and what v-lan is and how it separates network traffic.

I never was a network person, so I just give you basics here, a dedicated network person will know more about this topic.

Firewall rules define what type of network traffic is allowed and what network traffic is not allowed. Firewall rules will also specify which systems are allowed to handle the specific traffic.
