Google defines term Information Technology as "the use of digital technology, like computers and the Internet. to store and process data into useful information".

IT industry refers to all of the jobs in this field.

There are a lot of jobs in it. Some of the examples are: network engineers, computer technicians, desktop support. Information technology is not just about computers, it is about people. People are end-users of such technology, and if they are not able to do so, then what is the reason of having this fancy technology at all?

IT is in use by many industries, even a construction worker may came with a tablet to record things which are needed to be done.

IT brings more efficient ways for people to communicate and collaborate. People that don't use Information Technology are at disadvantage.
