File types

File types usually can be detected by that file's extension. A file's extension is usually consists of 3 or 4 characters. A file's extension indicate what type of file it is.

Please be aware that in non-Window's operating systems executable status of a file is indicated not by file's extension, but by the executable attribute associated with that file.
