A sensor

A sensor is a small device which purpose is to measure specific activity like motion, direction, temperature or sound.

Sensors can be embedded in a mobile phone, or they can be standalone devices. For example motion sensor will detect movement and it can turn on light or an alarm as an example.

Sensors a low power devices, that can be either powered by a battery, or small electricity voltage.
