A computer webcam

A computer webcam is a device to capture video. Computer web cams can be used in video conferencing. Laptop computers usually have built-in camera, so a separate web cam is needed only for desktop computers, or laptops, that don't have a web camera. Standalone web cams offer better picture quality, than built-in laptop cameras, however for video conferencing built-in laptop cameras are sufficient.
