Penetration testing

Penetration testing is done by an independent company that has no knowledge of systems, software or configuration in the environment.

Penetration testing is lot deeper than just vulnerability testing. Vulnerability testing must be done prior to penetration testing to resolve potential issues that can be exploited during it.

Penetration testing needs to focus on issues a regular vulnerability scan cannot find.

Penetration testing is a lot more expensive then vulnerability scan.
