Distributed denial of service attacks (DDOS)

A botnet can be used to send a lot of traffic to a victim website or a computer. A botnet is controlled by a command center, however the message is usually is send from one node to another one. It makes it difficult to control the traffic by the firewall.

SEIM (Security Information and Event Management) systems can be used to identify such traffic by correlating data from multiple sources.
